The BSA Analyst position will report to the BSA/OFAC Officer. Employee is expected to adhere to and exhibit the “Core Values” of First Port City Bank at all times.
PRIMARY REPOSIBILITIES:
- Support the BSA Officer’s administration of the Bank’s program of compliance with the Bank secrecy Act, regulations issued by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and all other related anti-money laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorist Financing (CFT) laws and regulations.
- Prepare and submit Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs), Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) and Designation of Exemption forms within the timeframes required by the Bank Secrecy Act.
- Assists the BSA Officer in reviewing alerts of suspicious activity generated by the Bank’s Anti-Money Laundering Software and alerts submitted by members of the staff.
- Assist the BSA Officer with all tasks related to monitoring and reporting activities of Marijuana Related Businesses (MRBs).
- Participate in BSA training on at least an annual basis.
- Daily duties in coordination with the BSA/OFAC Officer:
- Review the TIN Ins and Outs Report for CTR filing.
- Identify reportable and exempt transactions.
- For transactions in which a CTR is indicated, prepare and file those CTRs within 15 days following the date of the transaction. Ideally, CTRs should be submitted by the Friday following the date of the transaction.
- Promptly review alerts generated by the Bank’s AML system, investigate each alert, create cases as required and file SARs as directed by the BSA/OFAC Officer.
- Assist the BSA Officer with reviewing and reporting instances of fraud and identity theft.
- Assist the BSA Officer with monitoring for BSA compliance through reviewing various transactions and reports within and outside of the BSA/AML system.
- Review check holds for compliance with Reg CC and to identify suspicious items.
- Review CIF records to ensure they are comprehensive.
- Weekly duties in coordination with the BSA/OFAC Officer:
- Review all new business accounts opened during the prior week for complete and accurate beneficial ownership documentation and comprehensive CDD and CIP.
- Review the cashier’s check log for accuracy, OFAC compliance and to identify suspicious activity.
- Download the 314(a) list from FinCEN when the list is updated (generally bi-weekly on Tuesday) and promptly upload the list to the Bank’s AML system, search the Bank’s database for matches and respond to any matches per FinCEN’s instructions.
- Periodic duties:
- Review high risk customers and their account activity and research unusual or suspicious activity through resolution or referral to the BSA Officer.
- Review CTR exempt customers and their activity to determine ongoing eligibility for exemption.
- Perform EDD reviews on high-risk customers
- Assist the BSA Officer with administering the BSA/AML automated system.
- Support the BSA/OFAC Officer and Compliance Officer in all other areas of regulatory compliance.
ROLE QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma and a minimum of 2 years employment at a financial institution. Other skills such as some knowledge of BSA/AML/OFAC/CFT regulations are also needed.
